New protocols for in-person counselling during
COVID-19

We care about your health and want to do everything we can to ensure your safety when you visit our office. Therefore, we have established the following protocols

1. Our office prefers in person sessions for clients who have been double vaccinated.

2. Therapists are staggering their days working in the office to reduce traffic. Physical contact is not permitted.
3. A hand sanitizer station has been installed next to the elevator near the 2nd floor lounge. More stations will be installed soon.
4. High touch areas will be disinfected frequently.
5. Each office is equipped with hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, anti-viral facial tissues and disinfecting spray.
6. Therapists will sanitize their office in between sessions and frequently empty garbage bins. The disinfecting spray requires a 5-minute drying time. Therefore, it will be more important than ever for sessions to end on time (@ 50 minutes).
7. The reception area chairs have been separated to meet social distancing requirements.
8. One person (or familiar group) at a time in the elevator. Elevators and stairways are restricted to one way. Use the elevator to go up and the stairs to go down.
9. Hallway traffic is restricted to one way, follow the arrows.
10. Bathroom use is restricted to two people at a time.

How clients can do their part:

1. Our therapists are in great demand at this time. Therefore, we expect clients to honour our Cancellation Policy. Please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. Email admin@stewart-assoc.com or leave a voicemail at 604-687-7171.
2. If you are feeling ill, or are exhibiting any flu-like symptoms on the day of your in-person session, contact our office immediately. Your appointment will be changed to either a telephone or video session. Please indicate your preference.
3. Clients must wear a mask in the building including lobbies, elevators, and hallways.
4. Please come to your appointment alone, unless you have booked a couples or family session, or require assistance.
5. Do not arrive early for your in-person session unless instructed to do so. Please wait outside, or in the downstairs hallway until just prior to your appointment.
6. Use the elevator to come to the 2nd floor. Have a seat or stand in the lounge area, across from the elevator. Your therapist will come out to get you. Exit through the kitchen and use the stairs to go back down. Deposit any garbage in the kitchen bin.
7. Evening or weekend clients must wait downstairs for your therapist to come get you. Your therapist will use their fob to unlock the elevator and send you up first. Then they will come up after you. Please wait for them in the lounge area.
8. Clients are encouraged to bring their own water bottle or other beverage. Please take any garbage with you when you leave.
